About Michael

Michael George Gonzalez is a seasoned singer, guitarist, and composer with decades experience as a performer, bandleader, and educator. His sultry voice and versatile guitar work deliver dynamic, genre-bending performances—steeped in roots, jazz, folk, funk, and world music. His bands feature high-caliber musicians playing original music fueled by insightful lyrics, tight grooves, and strong improvisation.

As a teacher and facilitator Michael is a dedicated steward of the arts in his community. He provides weekly music enrichment programs for residence facilities, senior centers, and youth groups. In 2010 he founded FLIMA (Finger Lakes Independent Music Alliance) to curate community music events, enrichment programs, and workshops. Gonzalez serves as artistic director for the Geneva Jazz Festival-Scott Lafaro celebration, and is a producer/host of the FLIMA Beat Radio Hour every Saturday at 6:00PM on 104.1 FM WGCC.
