We’ll begin at 12:30 PM with a special dedication honoring Jeanette Hernandez, followed by live music from 1–3 PM and dancers from 3–3:30 PM. Come for an hour. Stay for the afternoon. Make something, learn something, listen to some music—and probably go home with a little paint somewhere it wasn’t intended to be. Another free, creative, slightly messy family day at the Dove.

The Dove Block Project’s Fall Family Festival is a celebration of culture, creativity, and community in the heart of downtown Geneva. Hosted at The Dove, a historic arts center housed in Geneva’s beautifully restored Dove Block, the annual gathering brings families together for an afternoon of music, dancing, crafts, food, and cultural activities. The event reflects The Dove Block Project’s broader mission of making the arts accessible to the entire community through free exhibitions, workshops, educational programs, and special events.

This year’s festival also celebrates Hispanic culture and the many traditions that contribute to the character of the Finger Lakes community. I’ll be performing a solo acoustic set featuring music with Hispanic roots and influences, drawing from the rich musical traditions of Latin America and the Caribbean. For me, it’s an opportunity to explore another part of the musical language that has influenced my own playing and songwriting, while contributing to an afternoon centered around culture, family, and community. The setting feels especially appropriate: The Dove Block itself has a long history as a gathering and performance space, having served over the years as an auditorium, dance hall, radio station, and even an opera house before becoming the community arts center it is today.
