GENEVA JAZZ FESTIVAL
Happy Monday everyone! Thank you for being a subscriber and supporting my music, work, and programs. We just wrapped up the 3rd annual Geneva Jazz Festival, April 4-6. I am the co-founder of this annual event and serve as artistic director. Each year we host dozens of jazz performances inside some of the most exceptional wineries, restaurants, breweries, event spaces, and halls in the greater Geneva, NY area. genevajazzfestival.com

I’m really excited for the 2025 gig season. My calendar has been adding dates for solo gigs, as well as, shows with my various bands. This year I am adding some new venues I have not played before. I’m looking forward to meeting some new people and hopefully making a few new fans. lonegonzo.com/shows

YELLOW BARN ESTATE SESSION
My acoustic project WhorlWood has some exciting things in the works this year. We’re making plans for a full-length studio album loaded with original music. We are returning to perform for the annual “Celebrate and Commemorate” event celebrating Memorial Day in the town it was created, Waterloo, NY. On August 2 we will pay tribute to Jerry Garcia on the 30th anniversary of his death. WhorlWood is part of a special event at Relative Risk Brewing. We’ll be performing the music of “American Beauty” and “Workingman’s Dead” albums. Plus a selection of tunes from the Garcia/Grisman repertoire. We have also been invited to perform at the Yellow Barn Estate for a live recorded and livestream concert. WhorlWood will play two hours of a original music written by bandleader Michael George Gonzalez (vocals + guitar). Featuring SAMMY winner Perry Cleaveland (mandolin) and Doug Henrie (upright bass). With Steve Imburgia (percussion). Date TBA. lonegonzo.com/whorlwood
