Michael Gonzalez Duo
Jazz guitarist and composer Michael George Gonzalez returns to Ravine’s Wine Cellars Keuka Lake tasting room. He’s be joined by veteran saxophonist and educator Tom McClure. This duo will perform every Thursday in September (9/12, 9/19, 9/26) from 4–7PM in Hammondsport, NY.

ABOUT RAVINES WINE CELLARS — OUR STORY
Ravines Wine Cellars is an artisanal winery in the flourishing, world-class wine region of the Finger Lakes, located in upstate New York. It is the passion of Morten & Lisa Hallgren, a European Winemaker/Oenologist and his Chef wife. Together, they have created a small, distinctive winery, crafting elegant and expressive wines using Old World winemaking practices.
When Morten and Lisa started Ravines in 2001, they were the only winery in the Finger Lakes with a Winemaker holding a formal degree and training from Europe and a winery pursuing a traditional winemaking approach – making exclusively dry, vinifera wines. Ravines quickly became regarded as a top wine destination in the Eastern USA and has consistently gained national awards, noteworthy press, high scores and international accolades.
Morten also pioneered the bone-dry, mineral-tinged Riesling style that has since become the flagship Finger Lakes wine to critical acclaim. In addition to Ravines success with dry white wines, they are also heralded for top terroir-driven red and refined, methode champenoise sparkling wines. The winery has grown significantly through the last 18 years, and while small on an international scale, Ravines owns 130 acres of prime estate vineyards, operates two tasting rooms year-round and holds many wine & food pairing events for their guests and wine club members, courtesy of the onsite Ravinous Kitchen.
Thankfully, the Hallgrens arrived in the Finger Lakes at the right time, and soon had “cherry-picked” the best vineyard sites for making Ravines wines. These same vineyard sites still make up 100% of their wines made today, a provenance of grapes that they have gained familiarity and experience with over the last 9 – 18 years.
With a sultry voice and astute guitar playing Michael George Gonzalez delivers a dynamic, engaging music performance. A lifelong musician and formally trained composer, Michael worked as a professional musician since 2003 — writing, teaching, and performing throughout the United States. His original music is infused with elements of roots, jazz, folk, soul, blues, rock, reggae, funk, latin, and world music.
Michael is founder of the FLIMA Alliance a music and arts advocacy organization since 2009. He manages the Ostaga Music Co-op offering music lessons, workshop, youth, and community music experiences since 2014. He is the artistic director and co-founder of the Geneva Jazz Festival since 2022.
