Ballard Ballad by LoneGonzo

Here’s a clip from my Sunday Solo Jazz livestream on November 19, 2023. This is an original song called “Ballard Ballad” that I wrote about 24 years ago while living in Seattle, WA. This was recorded live in my home studio in Geneva, NY.

“Ballard Ballad”
Lyrics and Music written by: Michael George Gonzalez (aka Lone Gonzo)

VERSE:
I recall your first smile, Oh how it glowed. As you wandered by.
With my second glance, Our eyes were entranced, Like lovers sharing a dance.
Then it became clear, I must draw you near, So we might find love.
And gaze at stars above, this Ballard Ballad of love.

VERSE:
I make tracks one, two three, For this hope that she’ll love me, And together we might fly away.
She smiles right through me, Can’t be I must be dreaming. Love never happens this way.
Then somebody new, Comes in to my view. As they kiss and hug,
My starts fall from above, this Ballard Ballad of love.
