For the past several years I have studied and taught ukulele in Washington and Hawaii. Both places have a vibrant ukulele culture with active community groups designed to bring ukulele enthusiasts together, while providing opportunities to learn and develop their skills. I have been fortunate to teach hundreds of people how to play ukulele through private lessons and group ukulele workshops. Last year I moved back to my roots in the Finger lakes region of central New York state. As ad avid teacher I want to bring what I have learned and share it with my local community.
On January 9, 2015 I launched the facebook page for the Finger lakes Ukulele Group (FLUKE). My hope is to build an online platform for Ukulele fans in the Finger Lakes to connect, learn, share ideas, and play more music. It is open to people of all ages and skill levels. Based in Geneva, NY and quickly expanding it’s reach to the entire region between Rochester and Syracuse, NY.
