For creative people of all disciplines there are parallels in the pursuit of craft and expression. Whether you push pixels or paint brushes, write a codes or melodies…we focus energy to trigger ingenuity. There are times when the ideas flow through us with little effort. But more often it requires diligence, method, and patience.

In this TED talk, vobraphonist and composer Stefon Harris lends insight to the creative process of improvisation. An excellent presentation for both musicians and non-musicians.

Check out this article profiling the effect habits of “Professional” Artists. Their interpretation of a professional is one with a ambitious creative zeal. One that’s achieved through diligence, organization, and focus.
